About This Photo

I'd heard about the Storrington Fairy Bridge from other local photographers, and when I finally visited on this misty October morning, I felt like I'd stepped straight into a Tolkien novel. The way the morning sun filtered through the dense woodland, with soft mist clinging to the landscape, created this ethereal glow that made the whole scene feel otherworldly.

The secluded stone bridge is such a delicate thing—its graceful arch spanning the still, reflective stream so perfectly. What made the scene even more magical was the autumn foliage framing everything in hues of gold and amber, while the dappled light danced on the water's surface, revealing these beautiful intricate textures of moss-laden stones and tree roots lining the bank. The forest was so quiet that morning, just the occasional rustling of leaves breaking the hush.

I spent ages setting up this composition, wanting to capture that dreamlike atmosphere—that timeless moment suspended between reality and fairytale. The reflections in the still water were perfect, and the way the natural elements all came together felt almost too magical to be real. Standing there in the quiet morning mist, I could completely understand why they call it the Fairy Bridge.

When you look at this photograph, I want you to feel that deep sense of serenity and escapism—the invitation to step into an enchanted world where ancient bridges span forgotten streams, and nature creates scenes so beautiful they belong in fantasy tales.
