Hubert's on the Hill

I don’t know it is about St. Hubert’s Chapel but it feels like a place suspended in time. When I arrived just before sunrise I had high hopes of a gorgeous sunrise. There had been plenty of planning, checking the forecast and cloud coverage. It’s never a guarantee that things will go your way but I hoping the light would break through the clouds and deliver a spectacle. Needless to say I wasn’t disappointed and the sun combined with the clouds cast this soft, golden glow across the landscape. There had been plenty of rain and the field was still saturated, adding a added shimmer on the grass that brought the whole scene to life.

The sky was doing all kinds of things – moody but warm, textured but soft. Everything lined up perfectly in that moment: the light, the atmosphere, the stillness. It’s one of those places that doesn’t need much – just a little patience and the right conditions – and suddenly it tells a whole story on its own.
