There's something wonderfully nostalgic about British seaside piers, and this February evening at Worthing captured that feeling perfectly. As the sun set, the sky transformed into these soft pastel shades—delicate pinks and peaches that reminded me of candyfloss from childhood visits to the seaside.
I positioned myself with my telephoto lens to compress the perspective, bringing Worthing Pier closer and filling the frame with both the structure and that beautiful cotton candy sky. The warm tones of sunset created a dreamy, almost ethereal atmosphere. There's no dramatic clouds or explosive colours here—just soft, gentle beauty that feels peaceful and comforting.
What I love about this image is its simplicity and the emotions it evokes. It takes me back to summer holidays, the taste of fish and chips, the sound of arcade games on the pier. Worthing Pier has been a fixture of the West Sussex coastline since 1862, and it continues to embody that timeless British seaside charm. This photograph captures not just a sunset, but a feeling—that warm nostalgia for simpler pleasures.
