STEWART READING-BROWN
Newhaven harbour wall curving towards the lighthouse beneath streaked evening clouds

Light Streak

Newhaven Harbour, Newhaven, East Sussex

At Newhaven Harbour, the curve of the breakwater pulls the eye naturally toward the lighthouse at its end. It's a simple line, but it carries the whole scene. With the long exposure smoothing the water and stretching the clouds, everything becomes quieter. What's left is the shape of the harbour and the direction it leads.
