Temple of Apollo
Stourhead, Wiltshire
The Temple of Apollo sits within the landscape at Stourhead, partially revealed through layers of autumn colour. A heavy foreground tree and a canopy of glowing leaves frame the view, holding the structure deeper within the scene. The composition builds in layers. Shadow in the foreground gives way to golds and oranges, before settling on the pale stone of the temple. Light moves through just enough to separate each section, creating depth that unfolds gradually as you take it in.
