A Delicate Balance

Sometimes, a single element can carry a scene, it can be a person, an animal, or even something inanimate, a tree. You will recognise the tree as being to the right of the frame in Drift, but in truth it deserves centre stage, a moment in the spotlight.
The tree wasn’t visible at first light. The mist was shrouding it, waiting until the right moment to reveal it and when it did, it made an entrance to remember. The same fog that had once kept it hidden, that blurred the edges elsewhere gave the tree definition. It stood clear, upright, and still, like a marker in a moving world.
I had to take a photo with the tree being the sole focus, it carries a different mood on it’s own. The light was starting to slide across the field, catching the lines in the landscape and giving the tree just enough presence to anchor the whole composition. There’s a sense of solitude here, but not in a cold or distant way, more like self-assurance and strength. Like it was always meant to be there.

Cropping

Please note that some cropping may occur depending on the size you choose for your photo. This is because different sizes have different aspect ratios, which affect how the photo fits on the paper, canvas or glass. I will try to preserve as much of the original photo as possible, but some edges may be cut off to avoid distortion or blank spaces, or to accommodate the chosen size.

Colour Reproduction

Also, please be aware that colours may vary from what you see on your screen to what you receive in print. This is because different screens have different settings and calibrations, which affect how colours are displayed. Additionally, printing techniques and materials may also cause some slight differences in colour reproduction and saturation. The labs I print with use high-quality printers and papers to ensure that the photo looks as close to the original as possible, but some minor variations are inevitable and normal.
