Stacking The Deck

Like Pages in a Book

This was one of those rare mornings where everything lined up exactly as I’d hoped. I’d been checking the forecast for days, watching that stubborn patch of mist stick around, waiting for the right light to break through. When the signs were right, I made my way up to Ditchling Beacon before sunrise. I’ve been up here many times before, sometimes to take photos and sometimes because it’s a nice walk. When conditions like these set in, it completely transforms the landscape.

As the sun started to rise, the landscape below gradually lit up in warm golds and soft oranges. The mist hung low across the landscape, which was perfect. There was enough to have an impact, but not too much that it blocked everything out. What struck me most was how the layers seemed to stack up perfectly—each one fading gently into the next like pages in a book. It was a quiet, still moment, and the kind of scene that doesn’t come around often, even when you’re watching for it.

Why Choose This Print?
The natural layering in this scene gives it a soft, dreamlike depth that’s hard to come by. Captured from one of the highest points on the South Downs, it offers a peaceful view full of gentle movement and golden light. This is for when you want to be drawn into a photo. It’s perfect for anyone who appreciates atmospheric mornings, thoughtful landscapes, and a sense of stillness that lasts.

Available as a premium print, canvas, or glass to suit your display preference.

Important Information

Cropping

Please note that some cropping may occur depending on the size you choose for your photo. This is because different sizes have different aspect ratios, which affect how the photo fits on the paper, canvas or glass. I will try to preserve as much of the original photo as possible, but some edges may be cut off to avoid distortion or blank spaces, or to accommodate the chosen size.

Colour Reproduction

Also, please be aware that colours may vary from what you see on your screen to what you receive in print. This is because different screens have different settings and calibrations, which affect how colours are displayed. Additionally, printing techniques and materials may also cause some slight differences in colour reproduction and saturation. The labs I print with use high-quality printers and papers to ensure that the photo looks as close to the original as possible, but some minor variations are inevitable and normal. If you have any questions or concerns about the colours of your photo, please contact me before you place your order.

Returns and Refunds

Due to the nature of my products, I do not offer refunds or returns after the sale. However, I understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise. If your order arrives damaged in transit, please contact me immediately with a photo of the damaged item. I will replace the damaged item at no additional cost to you. Please note: I cannot be held responsible for items lost or damaged in transit.

I hope you enjoy your photo and thank you for choosing SRB Photos.
